Experiencing a repeat unplanned pregnancy may cause women to pause and reconsider their options. If you have had an abortion in the past and do not wish to have another, you have options to choose from.

Take a look at the alternatives below and see if one could be the right choice for you.

Consider Adoption

Adoption can take on many different shapes and sizes. For instance, did you know birth mothers have the option of remaining in contact with their child? Birth mothers can also choose to keep their name and information confidential during and after the adoption process.

It’s all your choice as the birth mother; you are in the driver’s seat and have total control over your wants and wishes for your child.

Women may choose adoption for a variety of reasons; maybe they’re not financially prepared for a child or able to provide the child with the support needed to thrive.

If you do end up choosing adoption, know that you won’t pay any adoption fees. In fact, some birth mothers who choose adoption are given financial assistance for things like maternity clothes, housing, and prenatal care.

Am I Ready to Parent?

Parenting is another alternative to a repeat abortion. While women often report parenting as challenging, many also discover it’s extremely rewarding.

Ask yourself the following questions to get a better sense of whether parenting is the right option for you:

  • Am I living in a house and environment that would be safe for a child?
  • Can I financially afford to parent a child?
  • Do I have support from the child’s father or other friends and family?
